This depends on when you start your training and how you progress.

New belts can only be awarded at Grading Assessments, and if you begin your training two weeks before the grading assessment, you should not expect to be attending this time.

Your instructor will recommend you to the Chief Instructor when they feel you are ready to complete all that is asked of you in the grading assessment.

We appreciate that getting your first coloured belt is a huge step and means a lot to new students. Therefore, it is imperative that we make sure you are ready, as a failure at this early stage may put you off martial arts for life.

You must trust your instructor, and ultimately the Chief Instructor, to decide when you should be selected for grading.
