Grading
Next Grading - Sunday 28th November 2010 - Registration at 9.45am
Grading assessments within White Tiger Martial Arts are scheduled to take place every four months and cost £15.00 per student up to 1st Kyu Brown belt. Successful students will receive their next coloured belt and a grade certificate, which is included in the cost. The grading months are currently March, July & November.
The Club Instructors will discuss the progress of all students and agree a list of students that are either selected, provisionally selected or not selected. All students will then receive written notification of the decision, containing areas of necessary improvement or justification for non selection.
The Chief Instructor has the final decision as to which students are selected to attend the grading assessment, and complete discretion over which grade a student is selected to attempt.
If a student is unable to attend a grading assessment for which they have been selected, then they will have to wait until the next scheduled grading assessment.
The minimum age a student must be to attempt a 1st Dan Black Belt grading is 12.
All WTMA students are expected to:
- Attend training sessions and courses on a regular basis to be eligible for selection.
- Attend the Kata course that is scheduled for the month before the grading.
- Accept the final selection decision of the Chief Instructor, even if it means that they must wait until the next scheduled grading assessment.
If not selected for grading, all WTMA students are expected to:
- Continue to attend training sessions and courses to further perfect their technique.
- Discuss their non selection with the Chief Instructor, so that they know which areas to improve on for future selection.
- Offer support and encouragement to all of the selected students.
- Attend the grading assessment to assist the Grading Examiner where required (Brown Belts)
